What does it mean to be free? What does freedom mean when it is surrounded by red lines? In this painting, the word freedom is visually rendered in a direct form, yet it carries profound symbolic weight. The Arabic letter here is not merely a linguistic symbol — it becomes an existential entity, encircled by red lines that impose stark boundaries. This work was inspired by my personal experience of being unable to travel to see my family in Gaza.
